Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management


This qualification is suitable for both supervisors and first line managers who have operational responsibility for a defined area of activity, this qualification gives junior managers the communication and motivational skills to help improve operational efficiency.


The level 3 Diploma has a more comprehensive structure giving you all the key skills and competencies you will need to become an effective first line manager.

Programme Content

By the end of the course you will have undertaken learning and development from the following units (dependant on initial assessment and needs analysis):

Group A Candidates must complete ALL the following UNITS

  • Personal development as a first line manager
  • Resource planning
  • Managing and communicating information
  • Developing individuals and teams
  • Meeting stakeholder needs 

Group B (Candidates undertake a choice of TWO units)

  • Recruitment and selection
  • Maintaining quality standards
  • Improving team performance
  • Management communication
  • Being a leader
  • Managing stakeholder expectations
  • Introducing organisational culture, values and behaviour
  • Managing team dynamics
  • Management report writing
  • Management and leadership influencing skills
  • Managing equality and diversity


Five days face-to-face delivery by a WELL Associate, supported by electronic resources and a comprehensive personal development file. It is envisaged that candidates will complete the full qualification in approximately 6 to 12 months

Dates available to meet individual candidate requirements, with sessions and dates available now at locations across the West Midlands region.

National dates available across the UK to meet to individual and organisational requirements.


£2,500 per candidate to include all course materials, certificate, registration and student membership of the Chartered Management Institute
