Global staff development WELL Training have been named as a finalist for two more prestigious West Midlands business awards on the back of a successful year of growth.
WELL, the training partner for market leaders like Caffé Nero and Edgewell Personal Care, parent company of Wilkinson Sword, is a finalist for the small business of the year prize and the service business of the year award at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards, to be announced on November 11.
Organisers say the 2021 Chamber Awards will celebrate the achievements of the region’s businesses “as they have attempted to reboot, rebuild, and rebound” from the pandemic. The winners will be announced at a drinks reception at Wolverhampton Racecourse.
With its HQ in Wolverhampton, WELL is a Black Country success story. It launched in 2010 and now serves companies and organisations across the UK ranging from premium coffee house brand Caffé Nero through to the NHS.
In recent years it has expanded to work with clients worldwide, including Cherry Hill Programs, a leader in holiday photography at more than 900 venues across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Awards success
On November 11 WELL are a finalist for another award, the Family Business prize at the 2021 West Midlands Business Masters Awards, organised by regional news website Business Desk. Lianne Russell, Director of Teaching Learning and Assessment for WELL Training, was also a finalist in the Empowering Potential Leader prize at the 2021 West Midlands Leadership Awards.
CEO Lindsey Flynn said: “The WELL story began in the Black Country so it means a lot to be recognised with two award finalist placings for our region’s Chamber of Commerce. We may be small in size but we consistently make a big impact, especially in the service we deliver for clients, so it is great to be finalists in these two categories.
“We retain strong Black Country roots and will continue to fly the flag for the area when we deliver work for leading businesses all around the world.”
Despite the Covid-19 global pandemic, WELL has delivered significant growth in 2021 on the back of successes for clients such as food tech leader Just Eat For Business and heritage Midlands homeware brand Charles Bentley.
WELL have extensive experience of providing bespoke training via online platforms, which it established before the global lockdown saw learners switch to digital. It also shapes apprenticeship programmes for leading national brands.
