Following a comprehensive Governance review based on Ofsted-recognised best practice a new governance board was put in place in February 2021.
The new board included key additional representative from education perspective and also learner voice representation.
The role of the board is clearly defined in the agreed terms of reference and follows the Nolan Principles in addition to the independent training providers good governance principles.
The board meets on a monthly basis with key standing agenda items around business performance, apprenticeships (learner outcomes and achievements) future growth opportunities, financial performance in addition to safeguarding.
The board have final sign-off on any growth opportunities.
As of August 2021, WELL is currently in the process of further board development with an employer representative joining in the coming months.
